Fire Safety

You are in:
Welcome to Donability > Useful Info > Fire Safety

It is the brigades aim to ensure that 100% of properties have some sort of smoke detector fitted in the home to reduce the number of injuries and casualties that are fire related. It has been proven by doing so that the numbers have dramatically been reduced.

The purpose of my role is to provide the people with varying disabilities, potentially life saving skills through initiatives that we have currently in place. In providing the public with basic fire preventative skills and/or equipment, we ensure that we reduce the number of false callouts, casualties and fatalities assisting us to improve the level of service given.

I deliver fire safety advice to groups primarily to people with disabilities. Work with existing partnerships to develop and strengthen our commitment to a safer environment in South Yorkshire. Another part of my role is to generate referrals to enable our Fire Fighters or Community Engagement Advisors to carry out a Home fire safety risk assessment and fitting of smoke alarms if not already fitted to the property.

I am working directly in conjunction with the various disability groups and agencies within South Yorkshire to ensure I can carry out my work effectively.
